I completed a course but there is a bug on a lesson and the course cannot be completed. I tried to ignore the words, but I can only ignore 45, whereas the lesson has 46 so the course cannot be completed.
I guess this is a problem with the course itself, but it is certainly a bug that this situation can be caused by any configuration from the course creator.
I already read the memrise support was bad, but I couldnāt imagine it was THIS bad. I mean, not even a reply from a moderator or something? This issue should be something very easy to solve (< 5 minutes), and I have already reported it through different channels (this forum, support email, etc.). Yet, itās silence everywhere, no one from memrise even replies.
There was a thread about what sounds like a similar issue a while back that might help here:
It would be nice to see the underlying cause in the code addressed, but itās unfortunately been around for quite a while now, with many reports, so Iām not holding my breath, personally.
If you can get in touch with the course creator or a contributor though, or maybe get added as one yourself, the issue may be able to be fixed for the course if the steps in that thread are followed.
If I could contact with the course creator this wouldnāt be necessary, but the course seems abandoned really. I understand they cannot fix the code causing that bug any time soon, but considering this is something a normal user could fix (the creator of the course), someone from the Memrise staff with admin priviledges could go an edit the course to fix the issue. It would certainly take less than 5 minutes. But seems they donāt even read posts under ābug controlā.
What should you do if a course creator does not respond to forum posts about mistakes in a course?
Send us a message (using the contact form on the right) with the course name, course level and link, and any details you can give us about the problem you initially reported to the course creator.
I did that like 2 months ago. After seeing that didnāt work, I opted to come to the forum and still nothing.
Iāve had my share of issues with getting replies from Memriseās support in the past too, so I certainly understand the frustration.
@Lien seems to help with trying to get in touch with creators of abandoned courses. If there isnāt any reply from the creator after a while, you may be able to be added as a contributor to the course.
Tagging someone (using the @ symbol in front of their username) alerts them to the post, so hopefully sheāll see this and be able to help.
