It’s been a couple of weeks that I’ve been using these decks to learn some new vocabulary, and what I can say so far is that I’m enjoying the whole experience way more than I thought I would.
I speak three languages already, and I really think it’d be great to have this course translated into at least one of them, so others could benefit as well. Is there any way us users can volunteer? While I do know that I could just go ahead and create a new deck, I’m not sure whether or not the audios would come along or if I’d have to record them over. Given that I’m still a beginner, my accent is not exactly optimal, so this could be a turn off. I suppose you know where I coming from, hahaha.
It seems like sometimes when someone creates a new course and adds words that are in another course, the audio gets linked, and sometimes it doesn’t.
However, I have a script that clones courses, and the last time I used it, it looked like at least some (probably all) of the audio got transferred. If you’d like for me to clone the course for you, let me know.
It also might be a good idea to ask the Memrise team if they’re okay with you cloning their course, as they may prefer that users don’t clone official courses.
Well, given that there isn’t any money involved and that the course would technically still be on their website, I don’t think this would be that much of a big deal. Today earlier I got started on level 1 (out of 7) the old way, copying and pasting word by word throughout the whole deck. That was VERY time consuming (it was 200 and something words just for this one), and I still haven’t got the audios. The next level has over 500 words, so it’ll probably take way longer. If you have any way to make this easier, it’ll be MUCH appreciated. =)
@AbdulMajeedBR, It might seem unnecessary, but I’d like to get permission from Memrise before running a script to copy one of their courses. If you’re okay with holding off until I hear back from them, then having me run the script would probably save you a lot of time (if it works). It might take a few days to hear back from Memrise, though.
@Lien, could you please confirm whether Memrise would be okay with copying a course like this?
