Bulk Add gives no results from Memrise database making it IMPOSSIBLE to make courses now if you don't have your own definitions

Frequently tried with Chinese, also sometimes with other languages.

Not being able to easily create courses breaks a big part of the functionality of the site and has prevented me from recommending the site to friends in the last while.

Individual adding of entries still gives results, but even then you’re SOL if you’re trying to teach a non-alphabet language as the search results are often in no way useful if your word has more than one character. Even if you’re creating a course for a language that uses the alphabet, the search isn’t all that.

This has been like this for a few months now. Can you let us know if you are working on this, Memrise?

I have the same question. I learn new words in Chinese by adding them to a course of my own. Ever since the search option stopped working like it’s supposed to I’ve stopped adding and learning new words because it takes too long to fill in the information for each word. I’m falling terribly behind with my learning. Do we at least know if we’ll get the search and bulk add words functionality back at some point and whether this is a bug or it’s here to stay?

Search seems to work for a few words for me, but only if added one at a time. Bulk add does not seem to search the database at all. I have been trying this for Russian. Just does not work at all.
