I have a course with about 20 levels that were auto-generated from the database. The levels are named 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, etc.
I’d like to add another ~100 words to the course but don’t want to add them all one by one. I tried to use the database to again add new levels, but it seems to re-add all words again, even those already included.
What’s the best way to append many words to a course?
There is unfortunately no way to define a range of items to compile with the “Create levels” feature, so it will build levels for everything in the database each time.
I usually simply use the “Create levels” feature, then delete the duplicate levels that I don’t want. If I’m just adding a handful of levels for a large database though, and deleting the duplicates isn’t worth the time, I instead build the levels manually, using the “Bulk Add” feature for each individual level. Bear in mind though that this doesn’t always draw from the database, even if there’s a perfect match with an entry, so you have to be careful about checking if it added new entries it wasn’t supposed to to the database.
Long story short, I’d recommend auto-generating, then deleting the duplicate levels in most cases.
It will, so anything you delete in the database editor is gone for good. It is however safe to do it vice versa. If you delete an item in a level, it remains in the database.
