Basic Cuneiform Signs - Some Issues

Course 160288 has been a fantastic resource for me in my attempt to master the basics of NA cuneiform. So first off, thanks so much, @ericjmsmith!

I did notice, however, that there are a few things which appear to be mistakes, e.g.:

  1. The UD sign is given a value of tu3, where it should have a value of tu2 (as is the case in the larger Neo-Assyrian cuneiform course).

  2. The KAL sign is given a value of rib2, where it should have a value of rib(1).

I’m happy to edit these kinds of things as a contributor, so you don’t have to worry about it - but I wouldn’t want to do it without your prior assent, since you designed this course and I’m very grateful for the time and energy you clearly put into it.

Thanks!!

Good catches! Everything was typed in from my copy of Caplice, and it’s easy to make a mistake with those little accents.

You can’t imagine how gratifying it is to know that somebody else is actually using the courses I’ve created. You’ve made my day!

Thanks for the errata,

Dr. Eric J. M. Smith
