Bahasa Inggeris Perniagaan by Memrise

the use of the definite article is inconsistent. Sometimes you ask for the a/an, sometimes you don’t. For ex, for “pengguna”, please add, along the current translation a consumer, the alternative consumer

to jawatankuasa: please add “committee” as alternative

to pengerusi: please add the alternative “chairman”, and chairperson and chairwoman as well (don’t be sexist… you define pengerusi yourself as “a person chosen to lead a meeting or company”)

to dokumen: please add the alternative “document”. And so so and so forth

many thanks!

also,

1 you give tukanan for “an act of giving one thing and receiving another” - that’s more pertukanan. See http://prpm.dbp.gov.my/Search.aspx?k=exchange - given that the Malay governement “changes” the language rather often, this is the dictionary provided by the Malay government itself.

(Tukanan is not exactly formal - is more for exchanges between people, for barter, etc; at least my Malay people tell me so)

2 pengguna is also “user” in Malay

3 yuran is a fee paid regularly or a subscription, bayuran is a fee you pay once (school fee(s) = yuran sekolah; transfer fee = bayaran pinda)
