The course has a bug in the very first beginning section where there is an empty blank field that unfortunately counts as a word and I can’t get past it.

you can “ignore” the item; mistakes in decks/courses are not bugs

however, as long as you don’t give the link of the course and don’t’ mention the creator, there is not much else one could answer your issue (btw, i am just another memrise user)
