Thanks for the update, @Lien.
Auto-Learn should be back now. I hope itās working well for all of you?
Itās only appearing on my courses ;For others, Thereās still only āReviewā, āPreviewā and āRestartā
Auto-learn is only available for courses you have created yourself or are a contributor for, as it was before.
Thanks again for letting us know itās resolved @Lien.
For information, up to about a year ago, before āgrowā turned to ālearnā, it was possible to modify the growing session on ALL courses, as I described it above.
As mentioned above by several people, this was very helpful for people who think they know everything in a course but want to make sure they know everything and test themselves once without having to ignore virtually every word they think they know, beforehand.
(Ignoring as one goes along is not possible, because if you get it right while learning, you are not given the opportunity to ignore it - if you follow what I mean.)
Having spent some of my childhood in Italy, I would like to try the MemRise Italian courses (and act as a proof-reader) but think I know vertically every word in all their courses, but can not afford the time to learn (fully plant) every single word.
However three great things about the MemRise courses are i) they have split each language into seven courses with increasing difficulty, ii) Small/ short levels and iii) levels arranged by topic/ subject, so areas one needs to learn can be chosen first. (Oh and now they are supporting them with their own [Course Forum] language threads.)

You can press Esc during transition to the next word after you give the right answer, and then you can ignore a word.

Many thanks @Rodyzi, Iāll try that.
I have found another way of trying things once.
I start a learning session then (assuming I am happy I know those items) after a short while stop the session. When I start a new learning session, usually I am given mostly new words.
I can repeat this process until all items have been seen at least once, then I move onto the next level.

Iāve never heard of the function auto_learn (aka auto_grow) before but I came with this need in a course with 5000 words. I already know many of them, but I do not want to ignore them because my knowledge is not strong, so I would like to review them.
If I had the auto_learn feature I could avance quickly with the course learning the new words I do not know faster because I do not have to spend time making the first repetitions for the words I already know
Is this feature coming back to all courses?
As you will have read, only creators or contributors to courses have access to this great function. We are asking for it to be reinstated/ made available to all.

@Oscar_Hermosilla I have auto-learned the ignored items for the first 80 levels.
I hope that helps?
Would you like me to do the rest at some point or do you prefer to learn those from scratch?
That is so kind of you Lien!
I definetely agree with you, Widle. I feel so frustrated having to spend so much time planting. For some languages that are kind of familiar to me, I just need to work on the word 1 or 2 timesā¦
Is there any chance you could auto-learn units six to 12 here for me? It takes several hours per unit and I was trying to do a bit each day so I could unlock the review function but as itās all vocab I know from the first two years of my uni course Iāve found it too tedious to continue the long-way round. Would be so convenient to be able to review, Iām worried Iāll forget it.
Thanks!

I have the same reasons as @DW7 to ask to be able to auto grow or auto learn items. @Lien Will it be ever possible for non-contributors?
I donāt care about points. We want to learn more efficiently!

Auto-Learn (for one - currently learning - single word) is back by cooljingleās new user script: [Userscript] Memrise Auto Learn
Many thanks Thomas, but I wouldnāt know where to start with User Scripts.
The old system was easy.
