Audio Review - all answers the same

Just try the link to the korean language course in the first post to this topic. The issue seems to be encountered with each and every word.

Thank you, I’m already aware of the Korean course which was posted.

It would be great to have a range of courses which are also experiencing this issue.

For those who are experiencing this issue, please link me your course and the word which has the audio issue
I cannot remember with word i had the problem, but was this course: Yonsei Korean 1 Vocabulary 2017 (연세 한국어 1급 단어) on Memrise! http://www.memrise.com/course/1143018/
The issue apears ro be random: some times all answers are the same, usually they are different, and sometimes just two are the same.

Are you going trouble shoot the problem?

I had the problem in three of my courses. There were multiple words in just a single listening skills review session for both Russian courses and one in the German course, but I’m afraid I don’t remember what they all were.

The courses are:

A couple of the Russian words from the learn basic Russian course were beef and persimmon.

Oh, I notice now that this forum is called ‘iOS Bugs’. I have the problem actually on Android! Seems that there is problem with the randomization engine that they are using or a problem with how the ‘random’ results are used.

Here are the courses I have that are affected.

Thanks for looking into them for us.

I have the same problem on all the courses I’ve created for my students.

I use this thread to state that in Android also all audio buttons give out the same word. Mexican course I’ve been reviewing for quite a long period of time. Never noticed this behavior before

Any responses from Memrise? I’d like to hear if the think it’s true, whether it should(n’t) this way and (if it shouldn’t) when they could fix it. Thanks!

I accidentally found a solution that seems to work for my courses: adding an alternative audio file to one of the words (and then deleting the extra audio file if it’s unecessary).

Audio works properly now! Let’s hope this works until they find a permanent solution…

EDIT: This only works for some of my courses after all…

I have the same problem with Simplified Chinese HSK1. I’m surprised this problem hasn’t been fixed after a year (!) of it being known. I’m wondering if I should cancel my subscription.

these are not courses i have made but i regularly use them

There is a whole series of these courses by this user, they seem to all have this same problem.
In ‘Yonsei Korean 1 Vocabulary 2017 (연세 한국어 1급 단어)’ I found two words that had this issue:
‘to be fast’ and
’pork cutlet’.

Acutally, recently, i got very few of these ‘choose the right audio out of three for this word’ tests. For example, today I reviewed about 100 words, and not 1 of them was an audio review. Any idea why?

…link me your course and the word which has the audio issue.
Now I more information on the words that are experiencing the issue. In the past few weeks I have collected a few of them:

Is Memrise planning a fix for this? It affects subset of a core feature - i.e. testing.

Thank you for letting us know!

Note: Though the original poster reported this issue on iOS, all my reports are based on Android (as I have only Android). If I need to open a new proper bug report on the Android forum. please, let me know.

This is happening to the course I’m working on too:
https://www.memrise.com/course/1517426/learn-to-conjugate-common-french-verbs/
(I’m not sure if that work will link for others since the course isn’t public yet)

I also noticed it with another course that I was taking (I didn’t create it), which is here:

It makes the audio testing completely useless.

I have the same issue with course https://www.memrise.com/course/629122/a1-german/
All of the words are the same (every new word).

Same with my couple courses. Every word that I have seen has the same issue. Each of the buttons are the same word.

this has happened to me too… all loudspeakers make the same sounds… I don’t know which courses was this thing… this has happened only few times in few courses

Same here.

It wasn’t like this last year, but since several months ago, all the class I was using started to have this problem in every word.

Is anyone trying to fix the problem?

Thank you.

I’m also experiencing this problem, though interestingly only with the iOS version (the Android version-- latest from Google Play-- works okay). It crops up in multiple courses:

Deutsch for B1/B2/C1
First 500 characters in Mandarin Chinese
Characters 501 - 1000 in Mandarin Chinese

And a few more. All three sounds are the same.
