Attributes and How to make information display after testing

I have some early courses where I have attributes and the first attribute will show as a pop up after getting the answer right or wrong.

On a later course (and one I’ve just created) it does not pop up after being tested on.

As far as I can see, they are set up identically and in both cases there is a tick in the “show at test” box.

Is there a master switch somewhere in the course or are later courses not behaving that way?

Perhaps I have forgotten something - it’s been a long time since I’ve created a new course that needs this function!

Forgive me if this has been addressed before, I’ve had a look and can’t find this actual issue, so just give me the thread and post number as a link if it has been addressed before, thanks.

I want to make course for my son, to help him learn German (1st year of learning). Basically I take his course book and make course with words and important phrases. I know it is wrong, but all those articles are confusing him, so I wanted him to learn a word, but in attribute shown under I wanted to put same word but with definitive article, so he wouldn’t be tested on ti, but still would be able to see it. I think I’ve found it - it should be a normal or testing column and the "Show after testing" box needs to be ticked.

Oddly it also need the “Always show” ticked.

Then it only appears after testing IF it is not been tested on or shown at a test (ie the opposite)!

do you mean that you must not tick the attribute checkbox when creating the column? I’m experiencing the same problem (see this thread).

Hi Olaf, glad you find my thread.

To make the information appear after testing you need to tick the normal column - the Attribute column is NOT relevant.

Ticking the attribute column is to show it at tests - eg to give some hint like “Verb” or “Noun” to help the person answer the question.

I’ve been able to find the true cause which is another bug (can’t be called anything else) in the (Android) app - you need to log out and log back in again in order to force Memrise to update the course in the app (again, see this thread).

Yes you are right, one does needs to log out and back in for a course to be updated - which is a bit of a hindrance.
