Archive of over 70,000 mems [former "A way to save all your mems"]

Hi there,
My username is tmartin84, I have five self-made courses of Dutch vocabulary that used to have mems attached, the mems are mostly words, not pictures. If you could download them I would be most grateful.

Thank you!

No problem at all.

Hello, would you be able to save Memrise - Amethystreamsmine by any chance? Thank you so much!

Of course.

Hello  Would you mind helping me with my mems? Memrise - Manuhao

Thank you!

Uhm, It seems we have a problem here.
The mems page of your profile appears to be completely empty for me:

I also checked several other users, whose mems I’ve downloaded previously, and couldn’t see anything there as well. I can’t see even my own mems at the moment.

It’s either some temporary problem or Memrise finally clearing up their database (did they put any announcements lately? I didn’t follow the news since I’ve stopped using the site).

The problem might also be on my end, but I’ve tried different browsers, different devices, and different VPN servers, and only saw the same thing.

Although some information still appears to be in the source HTML code (I’ve managed to download the text from your mems as well as 4 images), but the words the mems are supposed to be attached to are completely wiped out.
I can upload this fragmented data if you still want to use it for some reason. Or we could wait and see if the mems pages will get back online.

Hopefully, it’s an April Fool’s trick (in poor taste) and our mems will reappear later in the day. The last I remember seeing on the subject from Memrise said that we would continue to have access to our mems for 6 months and they would tell us if that was going to change.

Sorry this wasn’t intentional, we deleted 60k lines of code for old stuff and there may have been a bit of collateral damage. We’re looking to revert the relevant bit.

It looks the same for me… Thanks a lot for looking into it @Eltaurus. I’ll wait and see what happens over the next days. I really just came back to memrise and I’m shock in how much shambles it is :frowning:

Thanks, James.

Edit: Mine are back again.

The problem should be fixed now. Again, sorry about the disruption!

Yep, mine are back again, thank you James

Unfortunately, not everything is back to how it was.
The structure of the data doesn’t seem to be the same as before, so the script doesn’t work anymore.
I’ll try to have a look at it in the next couple of weeks, but I’m not sure if I will have time to make large adjustments to the script at this point. I’m sorry.

It seems I’ve missed your comment somehow, sorry.

Unfortunately, the script hasn’t been working with the current version of the site for a while now, and I’m not sure that it’s worth updating at this point, considering that it is unlikely that many people will use it before something else is changed or the ability to access the mems is removed completely. But I will keep it in mind, and if the update keeps being requested, I’ll try to find the time to do something about it.

I can still download the pictures from your mems (with text where present) if they are of any use to you.

How do I run the script? I am not very savvy with things like this. I would like to download all my mem’s from over the years @SKKreativ Memrise - SKKreativ

As explained in my previous comment, the script doesn’t work anymore.
But I took note of your request in case I get around to writing the new version.
