I believe Arabic 1 - Lesson 13 contains a mistake:
لأن (li’an) is translated as “because”, but I believe the correct translation of because should be لِأَنَّ (li-anna)
لِأَن means “that” (or “so that”, “in order to”). I notices because I’m learning Arabic from two places, it is also confirmed by: wiktionary.org - لأن Since I am not proficient in Arabic, I do not know if I am correct here.

You’re totally right! This is a wrong translation; لأنّ (li’anna) means because and it’s the typical answer to a why لماذا question.
While لأنْ (li’an) means (to, that, so that).
