Annoyances & a thank you :)

the night the UK switched to summer time, streaks reset to zero on all courses on Android app, apart from one. I have no idea what the previous streaks were, except most were in the 10 - 50 day range, but they reset to zero. Does the app have a problem with counting 24 hour windows for each day? [Have had similar problem in past on changing timezones or if need to launch a VPN; can’t think of a reason why it would behave like that, unless there’s some sort of crazy “unusual time change, zero the streaks” thing]

Why do streaks / words to review / difficult words not sync properly across platforms / devices? I can have three separate devices - iPad, two Android things, all are online - and yet see three different sets of numbers. People have multiple devices, they should see same settings. Related point to first - not all those devices might be in same time zone according to device settings, that’s an obvious thing given people are learning languages and therefore might travel during a day, so timezones can change unexpectedly :wink:

How do you report a problem with a course from within the app on a device? I know many/most courses are user-generated content, but if Memrise takes subscriptions for accessing them, there should at least be a way to report issues back properly?

Finally - a big Thank You to the people who have generated the user-sourced content!

Strange, I often change zones, and the Android app asks me to change the zone, but I have never noticed losing streaks…

Of course, when you change your zone, I suppose that the your ‘day’ is a few hours longer or shorter and that if you then just pass midnight that way, while you hadn’t completed your goal yet, you’d loose the streak for that course. But I suppose you checked that that wasn’t the case for you right?

no problem at all with them restarting a streak if a 24hr period exceeded since last used a course - but problem is it has also happened when I don’t change or move time zone too, like the other day, and have also had it happen when I’ve been on the VPN, it seems to think that a day has ‘expired’ when it hasn’t. I can’t remember it prompting for time zone change except on phone, when I’ve actually changed mobile network?

Tried link (thankyou!) but domain “feedback.memrise.com” isn’t resolving - and I’ve gone down that route before when it’s happened in the past: there’s a “we might not be able to do this” caveat, and last time it took a week - and only restored one of two lost streaks despite telling them about both … do you know have they updated it, so there is a proper “restore my streak” function, as that would be really good to see.
