In gendered languages, translating from English to the target language requires knowing the intended gender of the word. In one of the courses I’m doing, this works fine in iOS but Android only shows one of the “attributes” of the word, making it impossible to pick the right answer.
Whether or not an attribute is shown, can be set in the column settings (on the web when editing the course).
What I find strange is that it different on both - it should show on both or on none of the OS-es…
Could you post what the setting of that particular column is?
PS: the problem I found with displaying the gender is, that if you know it has a gender, you know that it is not an adverb or something and can eliminate some answers based on that. I wished Memrise would only present alternatives of the same part of speech, but it doesn’t. But of course, that is not your problem here. If I want to show the gender, I put it between parenthesis (e.g. (Fem.)) in the translation.
