ADVICE WANTED - course structure to work well with the app

I’ve only ever used the web-site version of Memrise (and I have no desire or intention to use the app) but I want to create some reverse testing courses which will have to be multiple choice in order to make them usable, so I might as well aim to make them app friendly as well.

Questions…

How many levels work well for the app? (I’ve heard over a certain number and they don’t download well)

Does the number of entries on a level affect the usability?

I’m aware multimedia levels don’t show up, which is a real shame.

I’ve also read only one attribute column will show up - I assume it’s the first one in the database, or is it?!

Any other advice or hints?

Cheers :sunflower:

Anybody using the app?

I’m getting ready to start creating a couple of courses, but since it’s so hard to alter the structure once I’ve started I’d like to get it right!

It’s never good to create hundredths of levels. Unless you do that downloading should work well, and even if it doesn’t work correctly with many levels then it will be fixed.

No. Just like on the web you have to scroll to get to a sertain level. The difference is that on web there are 5 levels in a row and on the app there is only one.

I think so.

Aside from that, if the entries are very long (like 2 sentences) then they will be cut. Only part of them will be shown. So the shorter the better.

Thanks for the reply @Rodyzi

For some reason I’ve had the figure of 25 levels or less rattling round in my head as a number of levels that work well with the app, but I’ve no idea where I got that from!

cheers

You’re not crazy; a while ago, you couldn’t use courses with over 25 levels on the app, but that’s no longer the case. Good luck with creating your course!

@Diana.S thanks, that’s good to know.

My course I want to ‘copy’ to change the testing direction has 74 levels and I was thinking I’d have to split it into three for it to work well on the app, but looks like I won’t have to. Shame my multimedia levels won’t show up.
