I’ve got stuck at creating my first course and so I would highly appreciate your help.
I’m studying with the app.
First I would like to add additional meanings for a word, so I tried out the “additional answer”-feature.
But, well, it doesn’t work (or more likely I just don’t know how to use it properly).
The additional answers will not be shown or asked for, no matter what I do.
Anyone has an idea what I do wrong?
Second I wonder why Memrise always only test one language.
In my case it’s Japanese, so I always have to choose the correct answer for the Japanese word …
Can’t memrise test in both languages?
(Note: This is all derived from experience with building courses on the website. I have no experience with the app, so it may differ.)
To add alts to an item, hover over the field that you want to add the alt to in the level editor or database editor, and press the “Alts” button that shows up. Type an alt in the window that pops up, and press the green “+” button for each entry. When you’re done inputting alts, be sure to press the “Save” button at the bottom.
Anything you add to the alts should show up in the item’s main page (where you pick a mem while testing on it), and should be accepted as an alternate answer when being tested on that field. You can also add ‘hidden alts’ by putting an underscore “_” at the start of the alt. These will be accepted as alternate answers, but will not display on the main page.
Hey @TinyCaterpillar
Thanks for your answer and sorry for my late response.
I did add alts like you said, but the problem ist, that they don’t show up.
But it looks to be a problem of the app, because they show up in on my desktop browser…
Like the time limit. It doesn’t exist in the app.
Looks like I have to write the developers a mail and hope that they responde…
