A1 french error

Hello, I am not French but I’ve been studying this language for quite some time now, not just in memrise, but also podcasts and pimsleur.

I encountered this:

c’est mon amie de Belgique
this is my friend from Belgium (female)

Shouldn’t this be C’est MA amie de Belgique since it is female, so the possessive form must also be female?

Thank you.

Even though it’s a female friend, you can use “ma” before a vowel. In this instance you have to use “mon”.

Hi! I’m having error in level 7 both in French1 and Spanish1 and Russian1. Then there is a typing test for ‘my’ and ‘your’ it automatically marcs wrong ‘mon’ an ‘ton’ in French/ ‘mi’ and ‘tu’ in Spanish/ same thing in Russian1 too. Maybe it is just android app clich. Really annoying, because my flowers dont grow because it keeps giving me typing test for those frases

Oops, I made a mistake, I meant to write …"Even though it’s a female friend, you CAN’T use “ma” before a vowel. In this instance you have to use “mon”.

I see. Kind of makes sense but still confusing. So many exceptions to the rule. Thank you!

No problem and don’t worry @princ3ssjasmin - I still find lots of things confusing!!!
