Why is the Speed Review much harder on the website?

Possibly someone posted something and deleted it? But that can’t be correct as it takes 24 hours for a message to disappear once deleted. :thinking:

I just want to highlight that this is a very old (not up-to-date) thread from 2017 with the last update in December 2018.

The Speed Review on the web portal is now much better working (more slowly with Firefox V52.9.0esr) in 2019/2020.

On our forum there should be 1-2 newer threads from 2019 where we already discussed this…but I would have to search them first and link them here.

Thankfully there is now much more time available to actually be able to make it to the END and to finish “speed reviewing” of ALL the 100 words.

I definitely appreciate the implemented changes (when the timer/bar resets) by the Memrise developer team on the web portal for the “Speed Review” to make a better use of **over-**watering weaker courses (including official 1-7 course series which also contain phrases/sentences) which you either A) took a longer break and B) where you are weaker in the taught vocabulary.

Algorithm touching the SR next intervals:

My own concept still is to only use this feature ocassionally when the course backlog queue is exactly ZERO.

Otherwise the “Speed review” – with multiple-choice questions – might wrongly touch your SR next intervals for due words and give you “false Positives” if you got the review correct (multiple-choice = on-screen hints, not real RECALL testing) but actually you do not really know the word/phrase/sentence.

If a user wants “multiple-choice” and no typing to review overdue more difficult words, he/she is encouraged to use Cooljingle’s “Memrise All Multiple Choice” userscript for the Tampermonkey browser addon.

Missing option “Mark the answer as incorrect”:

However, I still have not found a proper way how to mark my answer as incorrect for multiple-choice questions (0+9 hotkeys do something else, ESC just shows the answer, ENTER hotkey is not allowed) if I do not know the real answer so I want to reset my SR next interval back to 4/12 hours.

i just tried a speed lojban review on the web portal. I didn’t even have time to read all the options presented for a question before time ran out. This is insane.
