I just started learning American Sign Language last week, and from what I’ve read, American Sign Language is only used in the United States. I’m not sure why the United Kingdom’s flag is in the icon. Have I missed something?

You’re right, American Sign Language is primarily used in the United States and English-speaking parts of Canada, so it’s surprising that the icon is a combination of the US and UK flags. It’s a common misconception that ASL corresponds to English, which is of course spoken in both the US and UK, so maybe that’s what they were thinking of. (British Sign Language is actually quite different from ASL; French Sign Language is more similar. If you’re curious about why, I like the short video “The Story of American Sign Language” from Mental Floss.)
Anyway, this is something I’ve been meaning to contact the Memrise team about but haven’t gotten around to it. Who’s the current best person to tag for these kinds of corrections? @Lien?
