Yup same here and phone is 8.0. Would have been a victim of the new theme but miraculously google store shows that mine is up to date.

When new word comes I have to scroll down page every single time to read translation. Speaker icon od almost on the hole screen. Guys please fix it because is impractical.

It does not get uglier than this, it’s a total eyesore… really who did they consult, they need to fire them asap it looks ugly and usability has also dropped… My eyes actually hurt when using this! Please bring back the old theme, or allow us to change themes… something…!!!

Now that’s one hell of an improvement and shows that there’s geniuses at work! I’d laugh if this wasn’t all so friggin’ sad. Good that they’re caring about a new favicon while leaving everything else in disorder. I’m really starting to loose it.

Again, I can live with it. But I do ask myself what type of an advertising agency would introduce a blob as a new icon and how they might have explained the pure ingenuity behind the concept.

Has anyone/everyone else’s not changed to the blob with the logo in it? I quite like the logo. The fried egg was definitely missing a certain something.
Headspace gets away with a fluorescent orange blob…

So we have a “logo” written as “memrise”, that “symbolizes” Memrise, which can already be seen just under the logo, while, for example Facebook has a logo F, Google has one with G. From a distance it looks like Chinese chararcters to me. A symbol, or a logo, whatever it is, should be different from the name itself, as far as I know. It is something that reminds people of the brand. There is no need to repeat the name. In addition, orange, beige and a lighter shade of orance is not appealing. It is time to tell the CEO that his 11 year old son’s ideas are not that bright.

I believe that is how it used to be? An “m” on a purple background?

They first changed the “m” on a purple background with a yellow “blob” and then a second change has come, which is a “memrise” with a yellow background.

I still see the blob for the home page, the logo just for the forums.

Thx for the reply. The figure that I’d added here was from the desktop of my laptop. I cannot follow what they put and where. There is the app, Web, forum and so on…

Update: since the redesign I’ve attempted to use the app twice and gave up before completing a single module. It’s horrendous. I can’t easily work out what is completed and what’s yet to complete, the colours literally give me a headache. It’s such a complete misfire.
Memrise, please, you need to address this. Stop with the “you’ll get used to it” responses and listen to your very unhappy customers. You need to either fix the design or revert back to the previous version.
A month now and I haven’t touched Memrise. Will be cancelling my sub and using other resources.
Next time, hire a competent team.

I found www.lingvist.com the other day.
So far its very nice. Easy on the eyes, and I think it’s actually a faster system than memrise. Maybe check it out if you still haven’t “adjusted” to the horrible new design yet.
