Question regarding cancelation of subscription

Hi there,

i have a question regarding the cancelation of an annual subscription.

I’ve bought an annual subscription for my daughter on her android smartphone. I used my debit card for this, now would like to remove it from her account. But unless I cancel the subscription, I can’t remove the debit card from Google Play Pay Services.

If I do the subscription cancelation from the Memrise-App, the App warns me that I will lose access to the Pro-Features. Is this effect immediate? Or will the access to the Pro-Features stay active for the already paid period of one year?

What happens if I cancel the Subscription via the Google Play Store Subscription Management Function. What effect will this cancelation have on the app.

Let’s ask some staff member (you can find them by clicking those 3 lines in up-right corner abd choosing ‘About’) . Edit your first post and tag some of them, then they will get an email.

When I cancelled my annual subscription the pro features remained until the end of the period.
It wasn’t immediately. You should be ok to do it.

@mikatu: How did you cancel your subscription? Via the App, the website or via the Google Play Subscription Management? Meanwhile I digged a little deeper into the website and found the knowledge base. In this article (http://feedback.memrise.com/knowledgebase/articles/524855-cancel-or-refund-pro-account-auto-renewal-recurr) it is clearly stated that you will lose the Pro-Features immediately after you unsubscribe on the memrise account settings. I assume this would be apply to the website and the app. In another article I found (http://feedback.memrise.com/knowledgebase/articles/944650-cancel-or-change-my-memrise-pro-subscription-play) the subscription cancelation via Google Play Subscription Management is described. This article doesn’t mention the loss of the Pro-Features.

To sum it up I meanwhile assume that I can safely unsubscribe via Google Play without losing Pro-Features. If someone can confirm this I would of course feel much better before I do it :wink:

You should be able to cancel the subscription, and the pro features will remain active until the end of the billing period. If you do lose the Pro features, please let me know.

Thank you very much for your responses. I cancelled the subscription. Used the Google Play Subscription Management for the Cancelation (second link in my previous post). Everything worked out fine. The Pro Features are still available until April 2018.
