Problem with IME input of "~" character in japanese 1 course by Memrise

Hello everyone!

In short, if any expression, word, sentence or particle contains the sign “~”, then my answer will be registered as wrong, as shown below.

I have tried following solutions:

  • Clear cookies in Chrome
  • Using Internet Explorer and Firefox
  • Changing from Microsoft IME to Google IME

As you can imagine it’s pretty frustrating, and the weird thing is that it has not been like this all the time. Before answers would be accepted if you did not type “~” at all.

Any thoughts and help would be appreciated.

It is a bug, I think. Courses *suddenly* requiring either hyphens or even strict typing
