My daily goal doesn't change

Hello, I’ve lost all my streaks through the app but they seem to be …safe-ish on the web version (although since the web version doesn’t track streaks for completed courses I’m not positive). App version is 2.94_23413_memrise .

I use web version and my streaks are in tact.

Hi All,

We have now deployed a fix that should remove the discrepancy between your streaks on web and on mobile.

@poops_magoo, @nnutter, @LarBoylan I would really appreciate if you could confirm that it now shows the streak as expected on mobile. It should sync on open but if not, try doing a session to see if the app refreshes and let me know so we can proceed with the next steps (restoring the streaks to the users who have lost them)

Hi Jesus,
Yes thanks, all streaks have been restored to same as the web.
However there is still a discrepancy when I do a lesson on the app.
For example a course showing 404 day streak on both web and app before a lesson goes to 405 on app but 406 on web (lesson done on app).
Another course also showing 404 day streak on both goes to 405 on app and also 405 on web (lesson done on web). If I then do another lesson on the app the app stays at 405 but the web goes to 406.
This 1 day discrepancy had been around before the current problems arose.

My streak on the web does not match my streak on the Android app, and neither streak matches the one on the Android app previous to the last update. (I tried all the suggestions.)

I believe, from the debug we have done you may have lost your streak. Keep tuned as we will be restoring them :slight_smile:

My web app is giving me trouble again, starting the new day (for the streak counter) before midnight. I checked, and the time zone is correct both in web and on my phone. I’ve had this issue before.

So I did all my learning to complete the goals in the late afternoon yesterday. Checked the web version again at 23:45 and found all courses except one now were ‘open’ again. The clock still said I had 15 minutes to complete my daily goals. I completed the required number of points again, and they went to ‘goal achieved’ - and they still are today even though I haven’t done any learning today.
The app doesn’t say that I’ve completed my learning, and the count is a day behind the web version again.

Any idea what’s causing this, and what would happen if I didn’t do them a second time?

If you’ve lost your Streaks, please fill in this form and we’ll restore them as soon as possible. :slight_smile: Please allow up to 10 days for the Streaks to be reset.

Thanks for the update regarding the streak restoration process.

However, it seems that we need to provide the course ID and number of streaks lost for every course individually. I’m currently learning about 20 courses where I had a non-negligible number of streaks.

Also, the form doesn’t let me submit my request if I don’t provide a number for the number of streaks lost. I don’t know the number of streaks I had in my courses, I just know that for these 20 something courses, I was on my longest streak, except for one of them.

Do you have this information stored somewhere?

EDIT: We’ve now changed the form to allow submissions for more than one course in each form.

If you can’t remember the exact number of days you’ve lost, please provide an estimate. :slight_smile: The same goes for the date you’ve lost your Streak on.

The streaks are synced between the app and the website. I submitted the form to restore my lost streak for Spanish (Mexico) 3.
Three complications:

  1. According to the app push notification I’m on streak day 4 (?!?)
  2. The website consistently shows activity for the current day on the month’s learning graph.
  3. The app does not accurately reflect the daily goals established on the website. For example, my daily goal for Turkish 3 is 6000 points but on the app it only shows the “5 minutes a day” setting.

Thank you so much for that feedback! Let me try and get back to you on those 3 points:

  1. We are aware of that issue. As notifications are sent via a CRM it seems that it got out of sync. We are actively working on getting this bit resolved too.

  2. I don’t currently have a response for that one, if it continues to occur we will definitely look at it in the following days.

  3. That is a strange thing and I feel it might be related to us backfilling those streaks. If you try to change it to your current desired goal, what happens?

  1. Today’s push notification just says “Another streak, you’re on fire!” No day numbers. Also, I wonder if it’s related to me starting a new course recently, if it’s only picking up the streak from that course?

Update: I completed today’s goal for course Complete Turkish (goal 6000 points). Updated the app version from 5 minutes to 15 minutes and it erased my work on the web site but still showed a completed goal on the app. Weird.
