Move result to course from another course

I have completed course

How i can to move result from 1st course to next similar courses?

you cannot “move results” from one course to a different one (I don’t really understand the question in fact, sorry…)

Hi @Hydroptere, re

Do you think this is a comment about the facility we used to have where similar words in one course were set as learned when starting another? (Sorry I can’t remember what it was called.)

auto-ignore?

I mean, that there is completed course with some words. Words from completed course there is in another better course (translate, video). Is there a way to check words as completed in new course (those that i learned)

If I understand you correctly (and assuming we can no longer do “auto-ignore”), then there is a way to do it manually. You may be aware of this.

On the web look at each level in turn and click the ignore button then tick the ones you want to ignore, and finally remember to “save” at the bottom.

Or as you are offered to learn a word, hit the ignore option.

I hope that helps.

I’d love it that were feasible. The question is of course how the software knows which words from course 1 matches which words from course 2, unless they are really identical.

You might try: configure all the words in the levels that you already know as ‘Ignore’ and learn the new ones only.

Best wishes with learning (Russian?)!

AFAIK there are not any options on the Memrise web portal to do so, besides manually checking a level using the suggested ignore function.

If a course is devided into levels (the default), you have to do that multiple time :frowning:

There are some (quite rare) courses which just have a huge words list without levels, so using the ignore function ist just a huge list to scroll through.

As Memrise does not support features like this (auto_ignore) you would have to rely on other software to check for duplicates, like AnkiSRS.

Why not import both courses with Memrise2Anki into the Anki browser and trying around with filters and duplicate searches / deletions for the 2nd course, when you import it.

What usually happens with Memrise 1-7 courses is, that (some) words are not introduced only once, but at least twice / third and more, when the course uses phrases/sentences which need those words; so you learn those words before.
But as soon you run into this issue (if you can recognize this), you can make use of the single ignore feature when you learn the word (hotkey “i” = ignore) as already explained.

Basically you would have to make the decision, if you want to start courses 1-3 or start from 4/5 or 6/7 and/or still using your A1 course and not stopping reviewing it.

There was a FAQ on the old support Memrise site explaining how the old A1 + A2 courses map to which one; it looks like the new site deleted most old FAQ articles…weird.

As the Memrise web portal does NOT support streaks for completed courses, the biggest question is: Will you daily / weekly review the vocabulary from your A1 course…

If you want to make use to “auto_learn” single words (not the full course or levels), you can use Cooljingle’s user script, but you will be losing your A1 SR intervals.
Or you have to be create your own course or be a course contributor (does not work for offical 1-7 courses).

Maybe it is not worth to start the courses 1-3 on your side because of A1.
The best way probably would be to take everything offline to AnkiSRS (including SR history) and make use of the available application browser features there.

All offical Memrise 1-7 courses are too short to have a higher streak going on - and there is no “addon” vocabulary/level (like in user-created courses) which you can left unfinished to keep your streak for your “unfinished” course.

If I would import PT Basic, PT1-7 to AnkiSRS (which I can not do right now because of a SSL verify error) I am sure I would run multiple times into word duplicates.

This even happens for MartinPen’s user-created Duolingo PT BR course, where multiple words (synonym) have been added - in the same course - to multiple levels (but testing different L2 translations).

Personally I just ignore this issue and learned or review most of the (not very easy) words a 2nd/3rd time…the bigger drawback are different SRs depending on which course I review…but honestly…I stopped reviewing completed 3-5 PT courses a longer time and just reviewed completed courses PT 1-2 maybe two to three times - and not daily / weekly.
Too much work with all that typing stuff (using “all typing” user script).

So FOR ME is it not “that bad” that some words from courses PT 1-3 or 4/5 may also have been added to my unfinished 6+7 courses by the Memrise team (I did not check in detail).

If you stop reviewing a (completed) course on Memrise for a longer time (weeks, months), you are lost, as there is no way to review items out of the standard SR interval, so you can not “catch up”.

Memrise does NOT support overdueness out-of-the-box, the developers killed Cooljingle’s working “Catch Up review” user script after a code update, but AnkiSRS does support overdueness.

Too much thanks to all!

I using the ignore function (it’s really useful),
but some translates of words from new course (whose words will be ignored) contains best translate (text, perhaps video), so i want to use words from a new course instead of words from old courses (e.g. turn off words)
and I hope that this feature will be in the future (e.g. mark words as completed, auto-ignore)

Thomas Heiss, you really opened new ways for me, thanks!
I looked at Anki and I think it’s very interested for me. But Memrise is more simple for using

I wrote a useful script to ignore words, maybe it’ll help someone
