Mobile 4-Hour-Clock

Forgive me if this is a stupid question.
But I can only use Memrise mobile at the moment.
And I’d like to ask, does buying pro Memrise get rid of the whole; "Learn for 10 minutes then wait 4 hours."
I feel like it’s obvious, but I just would like to make sure.
Since I’m contemplating getting it just for that, but I don’t think it specifically says that in the whole; "Pro plan’ thing. (Then again I may just be blind)

Thank you!!

Learn for 10 minutes then wait 4 hour ???

Hi @rainachristie,

My experience of the iOS app is that Pro doesn’t remove the 4-hour wait until words I have just learned come up for first review (that’s part of the Memrise algorithm) but, while I’m waiting, I can learn another set, review words I learned earlier, do a speed review or a listening skills test, or a “meet the natives” session or get started on another course.

Alright, thank you so much!

I think the “4 hour clock” thing is something new that Memrise added, as I’m seeing reports of it in different places, as well. For example, in this thread. I don’t have an iOS device myself, so I’m can’t check this out myself.

I think there is a lot going on now as fallout from the most recent iOS update (that apparently only SOME users are experiencing). I tagged some Memrise staff members about it last weekend, but still no response from them about it.

It seems the last update created a timer (for some) and pop-up Pro ads (for many) and I think several of these recent threads are possibly trying to explain the same things going on.

Hi @pdao,

Yes. Sorry. When I was replying to the post in one of the other related topics last night, I linked it to one of the other similar ones but missed the one you mention above.

It does seem to be all related. Let’s hope Joshua has some available time to look into it today.

Hey @pdao it’s me again. I see now it’s a problem for only some. This is exactly what happened. You would learn for 10 mins and wait

4 hours

@Mangozzz ~ Thanks for confirming what others are seeing as well.

Memrise staff have been notified, several times, by several people, in several threads. Hopefully they will respond in some way, at some point, with some type of explanation. Beyond that, I don’t know what any of us can do, except wait.
