I’m wondering whether there is any quality difference between the German “Italienisch 1-7” and the English “Italian 1-7”. It probably doesn’t matter, but I’m unsure which to chose to learn Italian with.
One difference would be that the English “Italian 1-7” does have grammar exercises which the German version doesn’t seem to have. On the other hand the grammar exercises are apparently very repetitive and therefore not that useful.
So are there any quality differences between the courses and has anyone looked into both and can recommend me on or the other?
The courses ‘Italian 1’ and ‘Italian 2’ for either UK or US English speakers have new content and are very different from that for other languages. You get more videos and more real and useful phrases. I would recommend those over “Italienisch 1-7” if you have the choice.
Italian 1 and 2 have many more phrases, and even though it’s ‘2’, Italian 2 is not that low level and not too easy either.
Hi @DW7
Thanks for getting back in touch.
Yes, we will be supporting those courses. We are at the moment collecting all of the unanswered questions in the Forum for the Italian courses to get them solved.
In the meanwhile, the courses ‘Italian 1’ and ‘Italian 2’ are up to date and ready for you to dive in.
The Italian courses are really well prepared and delivered, and I am trying to fill some gaps in my knowledge. But having learnt my Italian in the 1960s in Northern Italy, I have had some questions.
