Is the support team still fixing bugs?

I’m trying to get a bug fixed in the course I’m studying, and I’ve followed the steps given in the help section to report a bug, but no one is responding. I’ve reported the same bug 3 times now and still nothing has happened. Do they generally just ignore you??? Does anyone have anyone have any suggestions?

I’ve reported a few bugs and they have gotten fixed, usually within 2 weeks tops. What I’ve done each time is open a thread here and then I’ve pointed the bug report to the thread. That way other people also see the bug and can corroborate my report.

Thanks Richardmtl. I’ll leave a thread here.

Hi @GloriousBellyflop - Regarding fixes, It would depend on the nature of bug. Unfortunately we only have a finite amount of resources, therefore we prioritise fixing bugs that are affecting high numbers of users.

Please also note, if the bug relates to a community course, it is unlikely to get fixed at this time.

It seems like in this case, the community course was not working as the creator has not finished it past level 9: Bug with Developing Chinese Advanced Speaking Course I

Thanks. Yes, I saw the explanation in the other thread. So, this one is not a ‘bug’ as such and, therefore, nothing for the support team to ‘fix’.

My ‘raised eyebrow’ was more to do with a hope/expectation that the team would certainly fix genuine bugs in community courses that were not of the course creator’s making but which adversely affect the operation of the course.

Correct

I’m not saying community course errors will not get fixed, just that unfortunately bug fixes are normally prioritised for core courses and features (due to the aforementioned resources). As always, you can still report community course errors, and I’m sure our QA team will be happy to help.

Thanks for the clarification. :slightly_smiling_face:

How do I contact the creator of the course? He’s already done every unit all the way up to the final one. It definitely starts to look patchy regarding definitions, but there are more units already there after unit 9.

Unfortunately the course creator is not active anymore, and has not been for a while. In all honesty, I would move on to another course.
