Cool
I love the look and feel of the new experience. I would love to see:
- On multiple choice questions, could you increase the contrast of the number choices? It is difficult to see them on the computer when one is using a keyboard instead of a touchscreen. The same applies to the “word order” questions.
- More screen shortcuts to access certain quiz types or jump to different courses on the main screen.
- Option to include/exclude timer.
Thank you!
I will say I like the design a lot. It’s better, imo. Some people might not like the yellow/orange. What you could do then is add an option to make the yellow a light blue instead (or some other color) - add this as a “theme” option. I don’t know how the website is structured in code (which libraries you are using, etc.), but it should be a simple CSS class change or something along those lines.
In fact, I might try making a tampermonkey or stylus script for this.
Ok, I’ve created a style to make memrise green. You’ll need the “stylus” addon, but it seems to work for some things. Not everything is complete yet of course.
Here’s the published userstyle: Memrise Alpha - Green — UserStyles.world
Image of it working:
PS: I have no idea if this will work on other users’ computers or not. I just created this on the spur of the moment in like an hour or so.
I’ve experimented with one more color design change in a new userstyle, called “More 2016-esque” (based on my unreleased “2016-esque” userstyle, hence the “more”, lol). I’ve also added some shadows in places. I’ve also changed the padding-top of “#page-head” (the section just under the main bar at the very top) in the first image to 15px because 10px honestly felt too small.
