I wonder if anyone of the four Overloards (I ignore you Ziggy!) use “all typing”, especially with foreign language scripts
I hardly review my completed PT BR 1-7 courses because of contained sentences.
Too time consuming to regulary clear the backlogs.
After the longer breaks for PT3-5 + PT Basics and lack of “Overdueness” support on Memrise it is less likely that I will continue with them…maybe I migrate them to AnkiSRS and self-rated answer buttons.
I do not like Speed reviews or multiple-choice either.
I do believe that those are the only possible options to daily/weekly clear backlog queues and earn many points in no time…
How does this work? I’ve often wished the sentences in my German course would let me type instead, because I find I remember things better that way, but have been unable to locate an option allowing me to turn multiple choice off. Is it possible to do so?
It will work on the Memrise web portal with the Tampermonkey addon.
It is superb for single word courses…phrases/sentences of the offical Memrise 1-7 courses sometimes get a bit challenging that way.
I use Cooljingle’s user script “Auto correct” in parallel to make my life a bit easier for accents/diacritics in my Portuguese language (I know, I should not and instead of finally get this PT BR Windows keyboard layout correctly setup on my German hardware keyword…maybe a later time).
I remember that this is needed if you do not want to turn OFF the Memrise standard activated “Auto accept” (there is another script to do that if you do not like the auto-jump to the next question)
Thank you, this seems to work a charm! Had a quick check back on my course and, even if it took a while to actually get to a question that would usually be multiple choice, it definitely works. Hopefully it doesn’t break anything else on here, though… you know how it can be when a website makes changes that interfere with add-ons you’ve installed. (Mind you, I’m not the most technologically sure, so if something breaks now, I really will be stuffed!) Now I just need a keyboard layout with easier to access umlauts…
edit: you’re learning Portuguese? Wow, that’s brave. I took one look at it and ran away screaming…
And even than I cannot keep up - it maximum time is 180 days. If you have learning, say, 4000 words, that nearly 20 a day, beside the normal studying. I think after 180 days it should keep rising, to say 1 year, 1.5 year, 2 and so on.
