How to test gender of words in a course

Hello,
So I am creating a course in which you are given a noun ending (in French), and you have to answer whether it is a generally masculine or feminine noun ending.
However, if I create a whole bunch of words, and then put their “answers” as masculine or feminine, when it is tested, it tells you that you are incorrect even if you put in a correct answer. For example,

The ending of a noun “-ege” usually suggests masculine.
The ending of a noun “-age” usually suggests masculine.
The ending of a noun “-ion” usually suggests feminine.

If it asks you to pick the word below which suggests a masculine noun (during a learning session), and you pick “-ege”, it tells you that you are incorrect, and that “-age” is the correct answer, though both answers are correct. How do I fix it so either is correct?

This is basically another form of the very common question, how to handle synonyms? Have you tried either of the usual solutions - using alts, or using a third column? If you’re not familiar with these options or how they compare, see my description of them in this discussion:

I did read that earlier, but the problem with that is the number of “synonyms” I have is over 30.
