How do you stop words coming up in tests that are in other levels?
I am making a course to help me with the phonology of a language, where each level tests on words that are spelt with the same consonants but different vowels. I have to guess the right spelling through the audio I hear.
The thing is, in tests, words from other levels appear and it makes the answers so obvious…
Is there also a way to get rid of multiple choice entirely???
That’d make it even easier as then I don’t need to worry about words from other levels appearing in multiple choice…
You will see words from the same database as options in the multiple choice tests. So to not see words from other levels in the test, put them in a different database. You can create as many databases as you like.
Your best option is to make new levels and the databases for them and then “bulk add” your words into them.
If you’re up for a challenge and if you’ve already learned many of the words in a level, you could also keep that level, delete the other levels and the words from those other levels in the original database, and make a small edit to the words to force the multiple choice options to update. But that might introduce phantom entries and is probably more work than it is worth.
…if you have already learned most of the words, you can just “auto learn” them again. As a course creator or contributor you should see that option when you click the “options” button on the level page.
Thanks, as my course isn’t big yet, I just made a new database and when clicking ‘add level’ I picked the one that said ‘Level 2’ for the database.
The only problem now is, as most the levels are going to only have 4 words each (phonology practice course), I’ve noticed on my multiple choice questions that it might show 2 words and then 1 twice, so the 4th word is missing. Any way around this? Or is that how the system is…
