Is it possible to create something like a whitelist of people who can edit a post? Iâd like to allow my fellow course contributor to edit the top post of the topic for our course.
You can ask a âleaderâ or perhaps âregularâ to make the post a wiki for you. Then anyone can edit, but in practice only you and your contributors probably will. In the extremely unlikely case that someone else edits the post in a way you donât like, you can just undo the edit. The person who posted the post will get a notification anytime someone edits the post, so you can immediately see if it has been tampered with.

Now that it is a wiki I assumed that once I logged in I could click the little green âthis is a wikiâ icon and be able to edit it. But it doesnât seem to work. Interestingly when Iâm not logged in and click that icon it tells me I have to log in to edit the post! What am I missing?
I think it´s just that you have only recently become a ânew userâ of the Forum. You should find that, after a short time, your status will get upgraded to âBasicâ and that will give you access to wiki editing and other stuff. Youâll find the explanation of what each different status level gives you under âBadgesâ in the index.
Yeah, I believe this is the case. @neal.p.carey, just browse the forums for a bit, like/edit a post and you should get the Basic user in no time.
Ah yes, thanks. It now works. But, oddly I created 2 Russian forums for my other courses yesterday with issue! Ah, well, thanks for the tip, I can now do it.
