I made new levels including verse numbers, in a new database (الزهراوان (جديد).It seems that you did not understand what I meant earlier. In a single course, you can make more than one database.
Now you need to delete the database called religion, click on it and go to the down of the page, you will find a red bin to delete it.
The initial database is the one you created, the second one is the new one. Now the initial database is useless, if you don’t delete it, maybe it will affect the loading of the course (note that even if I deleted the levels you created, the database “religion” is still there). Actually, I created a new database to keep the course clean, and so that we can delete the first database without losing data.
yes it has the verse numbers already, but it is different from the new one:
the first database includes half of the items to learn, because it is set like this:
verse 1 – verse 2
verse 3-- verse 4
I had to add the missing words with the other ones (using adding bulk). I can’t do it manually (it is a waste of time and effort). I hope that is clear now.
ok I will fix the order of display right now (google sheets are different from excel, that’s why).
Regarding the order of display, memrise always displays the word which the user will be tested on above, so It can’t be helped. I thought it had to do with the language or with the order of the columns, but no. I made a lot of experiences.
Even in the initial database, the words were displayed the same way.
It seems weird here, because there is no definition but a succession of verses, so logically the next verse should be displayed below and not above. I don’t know if anyone had raised up this question before.
@Casper_duo
The purpose of this course is to memorize the holy Quran, that’s why it is in Arabic. But if you want an English translation of the meaning of the verses, there is an app that offers the translation in many languages, like this one:
I also found a course on memrise:
but I can’t say if it is really accurate.
I would recommend the first app.
After all, it depends on what you want. Do you want to test your understanding of the verse in Arabic for example?
I already found the second course, but it doesn’t have audio.
That is what I especially liked about this course. It ain’t fun without audio.
Otherwise it would have been perfect for my needs.
I basically just want random sentences thrown at me with explanations and audio, so I could get some beforehand familiarization in bite size chunks.
This course maybe about memorization, but I’m not convinced the verse number is the crucial information here. Testing on exact quotes would have been much more useful for that.
I see. Did you finish the Arabic memrise courses?
What is your level right now in Arabic: beginner, intermediate, or advanced?
I am asking to see what I can do about it in the future, I may create a course for this purpose if you are interested, but it would take some time.
Actually, the course made by haggog and the course I was working on, test on exact quotes.
Sorry, I think I might have tested this course incorrectly.
I had the all multiple choice script enabled, which made the testing choice not really useful or logical.
After disabling it, I now see the arrange the boxes exercise, which I think can work quite well actually.
I suppose if this course can just add a note column with the translation, when a new sentence is introduced, that can be enough for me.
I’m beginner intermediate. I’m in level 6 in the Arabic Memrise course, as well as completed some other courses, such as the most common Quranic words.
I’m very patient. I would be very much thankful for your efforts in this matter.
Is there a course system where people (of all age groups) can learn/memorize the Qur’an? I feel like, during the steps of learning, a teacher would be necessary to correct our mistakes (when wrongly pronounced).
