ziggy just went for me

It’s possible that their adult test-subjects were bronies (my niece watches that show sometimes, and it seems Ziggy could find a home there), but I suppose they’re not mainstream enough to count. Self-selection and all that.
Some were wondering what the replacement would be. Well, on the web i just noticed that it was replaced with a badge saying the level number. Maybe it was there before, and i just didn’t notice.
App is still ziggy… probably needs an app update…

Good! Now Ziggy is gone, please consider bringing back bright colors and the garden theme. Watering pots flying in the space don’t make sense.
Oh, and almost forget, bring back badges and crowns and other stuff. I want to be a crowned Meminence instead of a 15th level alien.

Have you considered inviting friends to your house so you can all use Memrise together?
“First one to 15,000 points wins!” That could spice things up.
And if that fails, I think Siri and Cortana would be better companions.

A step in the right direction. A more meaningful reversal would be to bring back the course forums - with the abolition of these, the very useful feedback from users of my courses has dropped to next to zilch. The current system is distanced from the courses and clumsy.

Oooooh, I like the new shields! I’m guessing they’re probably just temporary, but I have to say I’d be quite satisfied if they were here to stay. I do love me some medieval ambience.
How about they take care of problems and bugs first, rather than things that literally have no effect on the learning process?

Great. Now if we could just undo the December 13th changes to the website that made it more cluttered, filled with unnecessary white space, and just generally annoying to use that would be great.
I’m glad that memrise finally listened to the community about ziggy, but it took far too long, and communication is still lacking. There has still been no response to the community backlash from these changes. And they affected the user experience much more than ziggy, creating minor inconveniences everywhere.
Sorry for going off topic, but there hasn’t been an announcement on these forums in over 9 months. Just wanted to let yall at memrise know that the changes still frustrate me on the rare occasion that I (an ex-pro user) come back to use the site.

Just to clarify, the current ranking system (i.e. the one that has been in place for the past few months along-side Ziggy) will remain un-changed. We are only removing the visual representation of Ziggy and the various evolutions. The team will be looking at improving the ranking / points system to make a more meaningful learning experience. But as for Membrain or Memocrat returning, the jury’s out on that one.
