[Feedback] Some words are learned faster

A while ago I realized that some are being learned faster than others, this seems to be a new feature in both the app and the web version (at least I don’t remember it happening before).

Basically, it just happens in the official courses. Normally, when you are learning a word, it needs two sessions to be learned (one session plants the first half, the other session plants the second half), but this feature makes it possible to learn easier words faster: if you don’t get any question wrong for a certain word, when it should reach “half-planted” status it jumps to completely planted instead, so you can learn an easy word in just one session instead of two. Words you have got a question wrong have to be fully planted through two sessions.

This seems to almost always work on the app, but on the web it sometimes work and sometimes it doesn’t.

@MemriseSupport is this really a new feature or is it actually a bug?

Well, bug or not, I really liked it, makes learning easier words much less tedious and also makes it possible to see exactly which words may be giving me more trouble. Also, this kind of compensates for the loss of the “Auto-learn” userscript, since sometimes even though I know a word I may still want to review it once in a while.

Hi there, I can confirm this is a feature that has been in the app and on web for several years - read more below:

Then this is a bug on the web. I have gotten every word correct and it still ALWAYS makes me go through twice. If I get something wrong then often I need a third session for all bars from that level to show as completed.

What I described only works on the official Memrise courses, when using community courses that doesn’t happen and the learning occurs as you described.
