Does offline practising count towards a daily goal?

Hi, I usually do my learning through the browser but I’ll be travelling soon and was thinking of using the app during that time as I may not have Internet connectivity.

I have marked some courses as “downloaded”.

If I work on them offline, will that progress count towards the daily goal for extending the streak?

Do you need to connect to the Internet at least once a day in order to upload that day’s stats to Memrise’s servers? Or could I do offline learning for several days in a row, and then when I reconnect afterwards, all those days will be counted as having learning events?

yes, otherwise it doesn’t count towards your daily goal

That’s what I had feared. Thanks @Atikker!

@RabbitWho I have a general question about the streaks. Next week I cannot study, do I lose all the streaks then?

Yes.

This was not the best place to ask this question, as this thread is about a different topic, perhaps someone knows a better place to move it to.

@Petri_Wilson72, As @Arete_Hime says, the short answer is “yes”, I’m afraid. If you have set a ‘daily goal’ for any of your courses and then don’t complete your goal on a particular day, your streak will be broken and the counter for that course will reset to zero.

Although the explanation in the Memrise “Knowledge Base” doesn’t actually say this, it’s kind of implicit. It can also be a little confusing because, for’ Memrise Pro’ users, there is also an overall “Learning Streak” which is different to the ‘daily goal’ but works in a similar way.

@Arete_Hime, Would this topic be a good place to move this?
