My posting and the update obviously overlapped - I noticed that the app was updated only a bit after my posting. Thanks!
Well, this remains a problem. It shows fine on my mobile phone, but still the way it did before on my tablet.
And yes, both devices are on 2022.1.26.0.
Here’s two examples, side by side (tablet left, mobile right):
And here are some other bugs that are very irritating:
-
When switching between devices, the app has to be restarted to recognize that a session has taken place. I. e., I run Memrise on two devices simultaneously. I work through a session on one device, then switch to the other device. The other device will not recognize that a session has taken place, pulling down in the course list won’t help; instead, the app has to be restarted on device 2 in order for it to sync. This often has to be done twice, otherwise you’ll get the same session contents on the 2nd device again.
You can also see a part of the effect in the screenshots where today’s history (underneath the streak) shows information about the session which varies between the two devices -
When I start a session, I often get a completely different course than the one I was working on. For instance, in the French course above, I only had 5 words to review, so I started a Speed Review session after reviewing those 5 words. The session that started was a Turkish course which is like 20 courses “apart” from the French one (in terms of the course list). This happens intermittently, I never saw a pattern.
Again, in order to get back to the “right” course, I have to terminate and restart the app. Interestingly, the order of courses in the course list is usually unaffected. That is, unless you (accidentally) answer a test, in which case the course will be pulled to the top of the list. If that happens, it seems I have to terminate the app at least twice in order to convince the app to switch to the desired course.
@MemriseSupport, sorry if this has already been asked, but in the Android App it would be most helpful if there was a search for a word on the dictionary rather than scrolling a very long list.
(I know I can search on the web as I am a Contributor, but I wanted to see if the correction had come through to the App version.)
