[Course Forum] Learn French Conjugation by Easy Academy

In this case, instead of waiting for a fix from Memrise, it probably makes more sense for you to save yourself repeated frustration by using Memrise’s “ignore” feature for one of the duplicates.

I must admit that as I work through this course myself (and others similar to this), when I reach a question where “A” sounds like “B”, I turn the audio off so I read the question. Now I fully realise this does not help in pronunciation but as far as I’m aware I can’t “disallow certain answer choices to be presented for certain questions”. I could be wrong - I’ll seek out further information on this.

Hi Maxine, I think that there may be an error in the conjugation of the verb 《s’asseoir》 in Level 39: Imperfect Subjunctive - Irregular. I am happy to be corrected on this but the suggested conjugation seems to be using the alternative Present Subjunctive form 《Je m’asseye》《Tu t’asseyes》etc instead of what other verb conjugation references suggest is the correct form: 《Je m’assisse》《tu t’assisses》and so on. Could you have a look and see what you think?
Thanks
Prame

Bonjour @Je.ne.sais.quoi I am looking after two French courses, namely Learn French for Polyglots and Learn French for Polyglots -No typing. Would you please provide the link the Level 39 (to which you refer above). I took a look at Level 39 in the course I thought you were writing about but it didn’t relate to your comment above. Merci beaucoup.

Bonjour Maxine, the course that I have been doing is https://www.memrise.com/course/131350/learn-french-conjugation/
which doesn’t seem to be either of the 2 courses that you mentioned. So perhaps I need to send my query to someone else? Though I don’t have any idea who that person would be! Do you have any idea?
Merci

In looking at this a bit further, I realise that I use the Memrise Android App which shows the “Imperfect Subjunctive - irregular” as level 39. But on the web page https://www.memrise.com/course/131350/learn-french-conjugation/
the “Imperfect Subjunctive - Irregular” appears at Level 53. Both the Android and the web page versions show 《s’asseoir》conjugated in the way that I mentioned above.
Does that make any more sense?

Yes, it makes more sense now. I am also doing this course (haven’t finished doing it yet though). The creator is CommunityUnited who it appears is looking after numerous courses. I’ll tag him/her here so it can hopefully be amended accordingly… @CommunityUnited - can you please look at je.ne.sais.quoi’s issue above? Merci beaucoup.

Unfortunately, in addition to what I think is an error in the conjugation of 《s’asseoir》, the entries for 《savoir》also appear to be wrong in the same course module: “Imperfect Subjunctive - Irregular".
I’m not on Facebook (and don’t want to be) so I can’t report the problem there.

I don’t use Facebook for Memrise at all. By tagging the creator you normally get a response. Where nothing is forthcoming, one can tag a Memrise staff member for assistance and/or direction. I just noticed that “CommunityUnited” has noted these posts. Hopefully they’ll respond soon so these errors can be amended. Thanks in anticipation @CommunityUnited.

My first issue is that I cannot finish the course. I am on the last word and it says that session cannot be loaded. The second issue is that on my tablet I can no longer do the Speed Review. Any help will be much appreciated.

Bonjour @MollyMeghan. I am one of the Course Contributors but it appears your problem is technical, so I will tag someone on staff to take a look at this: @MemriseMatty are you able to assist or if not have someone look at this. Merci.
