I’m having an issue on French 5 with ‘le secret’ appearing twice.
Is this the place to get in touch with the Memrise French course creators?
I just wanted to ask them if they’re going to add alternative answers to their courses.
For instance, If the English prompt is “Are you thirsty?”, and the correct answer is “Est-ce que tu as soif?”, other valid answers such as “Avez-vous soif?” should be accepted. Not only is it a waste of time, but it also gets very frustrating and annoying to get wrong answers for no reason.

Hi, @T1AGO! If you make this kind of post it is always great if you could also add a course number and a level number. Is this question in French 1 (British version)?

We are aware of that issue and we are trying to find an easy solution to that issue without having to add the 5 other version of each questions (polite or not, inversion or not etc.)
The course was designed with tapping test in mind, not typing so that issue shouldn’t happen in a tapping test where you are given words to answer…

Unfortunately, now I can’t remember the course, but it happened a bunch… probably somewhere in the 1st or 2nd courses…
ADDENDUM: It’s clearly all over all 7 courses. I’ve learned that I can largely avoid this issue if I stick with “nous” for “we”, and with the “est-ce que” form for questions, but I still think I shouldn’t have to.

In French 1 Level 2 I have noticed inversion not being counted as well, for ‘comment t’appelles-tu’ it is marked wrong and it tells you ‘comment tu t’appelles’ instead.
(e: not complaining, love the courses but I am agreeing with T1AGO that they are all over the place, inversion/formal,informal)

Memrise’s view on this tends to use the most common use of the language. And for a common French expression, “Comment tu t’appelles” is a lot more used.
You would need to remember the memrise version, as the creator can not account for all variations when they create the course.
Hello. This one keeps throwing me and I wanted to check if I’m missing the point or if the question is set up wrong. I keep writing devrait for the patient SHOULD avoid unhealthy food, but the correction tells me to use doit for MUST avoid healthy food. Is there a nuance I am missing?

You are not missing any nuance, the English translation is just inaccurate.

Tu t’appelles doesn’t mean “you call (you)”, a more accurate translation would be “you’re called” or “your name is”. Right?

What course are you referring to here? I checked in the Memrise course (French 1 - level 2) and tu t’appelles is translated you name is in English.
I’m referring to French 1 - level 3 “I come in peace”. The bottom of this screenshot shows the translation I see.

Thank you for the screenshots! I don’t know why that mistake was still there, it was supposed to have been corrected already. Anyways, I have now fixed it. You might have to log off and log on again to see the change.

throughout all the courses french 1-7 there is one continuous problem in my opinion: sentences with vous or tu. The english translation is “you” for both of them, but in the sentence both answers should be correct, yet they’re not. For exemple: you are happy. When i write “vous êtes heureux”, it’s says it’s wrong because it has to be “tu es hereux”. This is really bothering me, because both answers are right. Can you please fix this?
