In French 1 Level 2 I have noticed inversion not being counted as well, for ‘comment t’appelles-tu’ it is marked wrong and it tells you ‘comment tu t’appelles’ instead.
(e: not complaining, love the courses but I am agreeing with T1AGO that they are all over the place, inversion/formal,informal)

Memrise’s view on this tends to use the most common use of the language. And for a common French expression, “Comment tu t’appelles” is a lot more used.
You would need to remember the memrise version, as the creator can not account for all variations when they create the course.
Hello. This one keeps throwing me and I wanted to check if I’m missing the point or if the question is set up wrong. I keep writing devrait for the patient SHOULD avoid unhealthy food, but the correction tells me to use doit for MUST avoid healthy food. Is there a nuance I am missing?

You are not missing any nuance, the English translation is just inaccurate.

Tu t’appelles doesn’t mean “you call (you)”, a more accurate translation would be “you’re called” or “your name is”. Right?

What course are you referring to here? I checked in the Memrise course (French 1 - level 2) and tu t’appelles is translated you name is in English.
I’m referring to French 1 - level 3 “I come in peace”. The bottom of this screenshot shows the translation I see.

Thank you for the screenshots! I don’t know why that mistake was still there, it was supposed to have been corrected already. Anyways, I have now fixed it. You might have to log off and log on again to see the change.

throughout all the courses french 1-7 there is one continuous problem in my opinion: sentences with vous or tu. The english translation is “you” for both of them, but in the sentence both answers should be correct, yet they’re not. For exemple: you are happy. When i write “vous êtes heureux”, it’s says it’s wrong because it has to be “tu es hereux”. This is really bothering me, because both answers are right. Can you please fix this?

I know this is not the best answer but if you use the tapping test (and not typing) you are offered options where only “tu” or “vous” are available. And even if both were provided, the verb form you’re given should help you.
The courses for the moment are made for tapping test for sentences. We are working on a better solution though.

Can this video be altered? It is a bit weird. At first this woman says something about “tu t’apelles” (without sound) and then there’s pause and finally she says “génial” (with sound).
Haven’t searched for level. Just reviewing with natives

Hello Lien, I couldn’t figure out how to start a new thread, so I hope you don’t remind that I’m replying to your message here. I’ve just finished French 5 and have started French 6, and I’ve noticed that there is much less typing required in French 6, which is a bummer. Only by typing do I find out which accents or prepositions I tend to forget or misuse. It *is sort of a pain trying to remember when memrise chose tu versus vous or est-ce que versus inversion or aller+infinitive versus futur etc. etc., but overall, I would much rather deal with that than not be asked to type complex sentences at all. I would love to know if this was something Memrise did intentionally or if there are any plans to change it. Thank you so much in advance for any thoughts you might have!

I know there was this issue last year… noe it came for revision and I had forgotten to put in all those brackets and semicolon
by the way… if you do audio only… it says “mon” but you still have to write "mon (ma; mes) in nsome point
