Can't set goal for completed course

Reported before I know, but just bringing back again more as a “wish list” type thing.
The fact that you can’t make use of the “daily goal” feature to ensure you keep up with revising words from a completed course really is a bit odd. It’s almost like you have to deliberately not learn one word from a course to ensure it will keep tracking your goal.

+1 vote.

Thankfully MartinPen knew about it and designed a Duolingo Portuguese Brazil vocabulary course with 1-2 additional levels with additional words (e.g pronunciation optional) which I can leave unfinished.

Memrise staff @MemriseSupport @MemriseMatty @Joshua @Lien and course creators/contributors @IgCostaBR @BenWhately are probably not aware of this issue and for the offical PT BR 1-7, PT BR Basic [and for 5000 vs Elementary/Intermediate/Advanced PT BR courses I would have to check again] courses there is not really an additional level (the last PTBR7 one has a short completition success level) which you can leave unfinished for 1-3 half-planted words to keep your streak going on the web portal.

Every Memrise course would have to be designed with this in mind and supporting it is IMHO just a big nasty workaround, isn’t it?

This really affects my motivation of doing the daily reviews and to finally clear my backlog queue for those courses one day…

The non-existant support of “Overdueness” reviews for longer course breaks to “Catch-Up with SR (standard) next intervals” ( @cooljingle had written a quite cool working user script supporting this until new web code module updates totally broke it) is the second problem why I do not clear the backlog queues with “all typing” Tampermonkey user script activated (time intensive with courses which include phrases/sentences as you can not switch back and forth between typing and word bank on 2-3+ repeated typing error; Duolingo introduced the toggle keyboard vs word bank icon with the “crown update” on their web portal) on a daily / at least weekly basis.

Did you know @dylan.nicholson.548 that in the background the streak is still incrementing as I get sometimes those congratulation firework messages for an ongoing streak and Memrise Pro discount offer.

AFAIR the Android app (older version) also shows streaks for completed courses (I would have to double-check again on KOPlayer) while the web portal has eleminated the course streak support :frowning:

I really want to vote for your request Dylan!
I want to have it, especially for bigger 5000-8000 vocabulary courses where there is no extra last level or any other bonus levels.

Actually I will admit a problem is that there’s often just not enough opportunity to score 1500 points every day once you’ve finished course (without re-revising words you already know just fine). What I’d really like is a goal “revise all words needing revision”, although eventually even that as a daily goal becomes meaningless when you get strings of days with no revisions needed. A 1500-points-a-week goal might work well though.

No problem Dylan.
You can do over-watering to get 1,500 points.

If the words are spaced out at max (180 days) you will get 150 points per each correctly answered (typed=recalled) word.

@all
Is anyone of you using an AnkiSRS visual (coloured badget/flame) addon or any comparable SR software for a leaderboard or daily course (deck) streak where I could import my older completed Memrise courses into?

Hello Memrise team,

two months have already passed by and I somehow still miss a short acknowledge message from your team :disappointed:

Are there any news and plans about this subject to re-display streaks for completed courses with a specific “review goal” on the web portal?

What does “Memrise Pro” support on the web portal?
Can you confirm any / all of the listed statistic features and screenshots described on the Wiki or have there been any changes in 2017-2018 (e.g removage of old features) to the web portal : http://memrise-users.wikia.com/wiki/Memrise_Premium
Sorry I have no budget for the next ~3-6 months…maybe a later time.

If nothing like this is planned for the near future, could a lead developer please at least reply if there is any way to accomplish this and how to develop a Tampermonkey user script to “set a daily goal again” and re-display the active streaks (to continue) on the web portal / dashboard?
Is the data still in your backend and your frontend just removed it??
@cooljingle Have you maybe found a way to do it on the web portal?

Example:
Your official 1-7 course series do not have so many words or an additional / unused level (not fully planted words) to keep the active streak going for REVIEWS for a longer time like I would be able to do with (user-created) 5000-8000+ words courses or the 5000 words courses created by BenWhately!

…(…)…

Hasn’t your statistic system already alerted you that with missing features like “Overdueness” (Catch-Up) review support and without “active review streaks” it has definitely affected my performance for the worse for all of my completed PT BR Basic + PT BR 1-7 courses and these are still suffering of a huge backlog queue?

My motivation is definitely greater and I do better on Duolingo because of the supported daily streak (>365 days) even for my completed EN->PT tree which I just have to continue to review to keep up strength or level more complicated “grammar/verb tense” skills up to higher crown levels.

Thanks supporting the direct exchange of ideas with your team on your community forum!

Have a nice Sunday!

With best regards / Mit freundlichen Grüßen aus Deutschland

If you’re looking for a script to add goal setting/tracking for completed courses, I’m afraid I can’t work on that as it’s a low priority thing for me and it’s probably a fair amount of work - would be nice for you if memrise would consider implementing it though!
