Tip: Categorizing images[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]][[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Per anar-ne nominant més, una cosa que els falta és una categoria per scope, assegurant-nos que si hi ha alguna altra imatge relacionada amb el personatge també hi sigui. No és un dels criteris i a més no m'agrada gaire fer categories per una sola imatge, però l'Archaedontosaurus hi té força mania, i cal reconèixer que és útil per comprovar que no hi hagi cap imatge més "valued".
Nominar un set, com proposaves, jo només ho faria quan hi ha un scope clar per tot el set i no hi ha altres imatges millors. Un cop complerts els criteris, nominar és només cosa d'anar omplint el que demana la plantilla.--Pere prlpz (talk) 10:01, 29 September 2012 (UTC)
- No conec massa com va això de les featured images, però a la galeria de retrats no fotogràfics (on suposo que hauria d'anar el retrat del Guti) hi tenen la Giocconda, la noia de la perla i altres obres mestres que em temo que posen el llistó molt alt. Hauríem de veure (a la categoria i a les discussions de les candidatures tancades) si aquests són només una mostra, però no m'acabo d'imaginar el retrat del Guti enmig de tots aquests.
- El set dels mapes crec que té possibilitats, tot i que no sé com valoren la unitat d'estil de la sèrie, que és un punt a favor que tenen aquests mapes. Aquí també estaria bé mirar-se els criteris i els precedents.
- Un set de retrats pot estar bé si hi ha un scope adient. A mi només se m'ocorre un scope de membres d'un determinat govern, però per fer això crec que hi haurien de ser tots.

Antes que nada, muchas gracias por tu comentario. Me parece una excelente idea, establecer mecanismos para que la comunidad realice debates en torno a asuntos tan delicados como los derechos de autor.
Yo comprendo, que este asunto de obras derivadas es difícil para ti, sin embargo, te invito a abrir el debate con otras personas de commons. Yo no observo rasgos exageradamente resaltantes en los dibujos que me hagan pensar de una obra no derivada, por el contrario, yo simplemente observo un casi calque o dibujo a pulso en cuanto a composición, detalles y posturas, de la fotografía y que lógicamente no puede verse exactamente igual que la foto, sin embargo, rasgos son exactamente idénticas. Los derechos autor deben ser respetados, esto influye directamente sobre wikimedia y sus proyectos y no podemos permitirnos este tipo de trabajos. Gracias, cuídate, espero ver mas comentarios tuyos. - Gracias por tu pregunta, muy acertada. Me gustaría aprovechar de felicitarte por la labor que están haciendo de pintura, me parece excelente mientras sean respetados los derechos. Yo te recomiendo Subir las pinturas con problemas en un lugar de hospedaje de imagenes gratis como flicker o picassaweb con licencia libre, posteriormente comentar el asunto y la problematica en Commons:Village pump/Copyright. Por favor, avísame cuando lo hagas para participar en ello, espero poder dar la visión más objetiva posible. - Que bueno, ojala los estudiantes comprendan que al hacerlo de esa forma no estarán tirando su trabajo a la basura. El asunto de copyvio en estos casos es comprensible, sin embargo, los litigios llegan a niveles hasta criminales como en el caso de las patentes. Por ejemplo, imagina a una comunidad indígena que utiliza una planta para curar el cáncer, luego viene una compañía farmacéutica transnacional y patenta el uso de la planta, posteriormente los indígenas son obligados a dejar de utilizar la planta para su propia curación. Hola David: Disculpa que tregués la categoria: "Cooperativa Integral Catalana" de la teva foto. No la vaig treure perque estés malament, sino perque no existia (estava en vermell). No han de figurar categories en vermell. L'hi he tornat a posar però he creat la categoria basant-me en alguna informació que he tret de la Wikipèdia. Revisa-ho. Si hi vols afegir alguna cosa (jo no coneixia aquesta Cooperativa), pots fer-ho. Es veritat que hi han imatges de molt difícil categorització. Aquesta n'és una d'elles. Cambiando de tercio[edit]
Hola David, buscando una intervención tuya he visto tu lista de contribuciones y he caído en La taverna... No he podido sino reparar en la beatífica intervención de Prades, marca de la casa.
No tengo ganas de meter a nadie en mis conflictos, que los tengo y muchos, pero sí que voy a explicarte el antecedente porque no me gusta que se me juzgue sin conocer la historia. Puedes ver en mi registro de bloqueos de la wikipedia en español que fui expulsado de allí. Podría contarte las causas pero como sería mi interpretación no creo que fuese objetivo. En todo caso, la wikipedia en español tiene normas sobre los ataques personales que en nada difieren de las de la wikipedia en inglés (The prohibition against personal attacks applies equally to all Wikipedians. It is as unacceptable to attack a user with a history of foolish or boorish behavior, one who is blocked, or one who has been subject to action by the Arbitration Committee, as it is to attack any other user). En enero pedí mi desbloqueo comprometiéndome a olvidarme de movidas y a dedicarme exclusivamente a contribuir, como hago en commons o en la wikipedia en inglés. Prades, siempre tan atento, se despachó de la siguiente forma (muchos más insultos y descalificaciones en ocasiones anteriores, que prefiero no listar):
- entiendo que es difícil que Ecemaml siga expulsado a perpetuidad. Algún día se le perdonarán sus "fechorías"
- no sé si alguien tendrá argumentos ahora para que se levante el bloqueo al ex-ususario de marras...
- Me avergüenza también ver que algunos bibliotecarios estaban dispuestos a que un tramposo volviera a esta honorable enciclopedia
- ¿Dime tú dónde están los ataques personales?, así terminaremos antes... A simple vista sólo veo la palabra tramposo y es evidente que tramposo es el que hace trampas... Por lo que, si te refieres a esa palabra, evidentemente no pienso quitarla.
- Vale, quizás me extralimité por llamar tramposo a un usuario expulsado. TRAMPOSO RAE: Embustero, petardista, mal pagador. Que hace trampas en el juego. Por Dios, alguien que mantiene un montón de años un títere con el que votar es hacer trampas, o sea, un tramposo.
- niego la mayor, yo no he faltado el respeto a nadie que su actitud sea irreprochable, llamé tramposo a quien hizo y está haciendo trampas, ya sea para votar con títeres o para saltarse continuamente el bloqueo. Vuelvo solicitar que se me desbloquee, ladrón es el que roba, asesino es el que mata y tramposo es el que hace trampas, me gustaría hacer catarsis y borrón y cuenta nueva.
En esas circunstancias (en las que por supuesto en ningún momento Prades ha mostrado la más mínima voluntad de no seguir insultándome o, menos aún, pedirme disculpas), aparece, como si tal cosa, por mi página de discusión para cuestionarme no sé qué. En la vida real, una situación en la que alguien se dedica a insultar pública y repetidamente a otra persona y luego aparece como si tal cosa a pedirle algo, sin la más mínima disculpa o rectificación, sin duda terminaría de forma poco amistosa (supongo que se debe creer que ir insultando a la gente es la mejor credencial para luego ir departiendo amigablemente con él). Afortunadamente, en los proyectos de wikimedia estamos forzados a mantener las formas (porque, de hecho, las formas son muy importantes para la convivencia en el proyecto), pero tampoco tengo por qué tener que interactuar con él, por lo que le dije, lisa y llanamente, que por mí, haga como si yo estuviera muerto. Que hay un montón de sitios en los que reclamar si ha habido algún error con los borrados. Así que si viene de nuevo a preguntar con cara de inocente que cómo es que le han recibido así, pues aquí tienes la respuesta. Lo dicho, siento que hayas estado involucrado en esto. - Sí, David, creo que tienes toda la razón. Hubiese sido mejor no interactuar con él. Por eso tras borrar la imagen de la plancha de Mortadelo y Filemón, y en vez de dejar un mensaje de falta de información de fuentes con la otra (porque era de borrado directo también si la fecha de publicación del cómic no era la correcta), preferí abrir una consulta de borrado, en la cual no tendría por que haber habido interacción. Soy perfectamente consciente de los contratos leoninos y abusivos del mundo de cómic, especialmente en sus comienzos, pero lamentablemente no es nuestra función desfacer los entuertos del mundo (al hilo de eso tenemos la política correspondiente, Commons:Lo que Commons no es#Commons se preocupa de los derechos de autor). Como Ecemaml no quiere decirte los motivos de su expulsión, ya te los digo yo: siendo bibliotecario este sujeto, y habiéndose distinguido en numerosísimas ocasiones por su "dedo fácil" presto a cualquier amenazqa de bloqueo o bloqueo, resulta que se le pilló en varias ocasiones usando títeres para votar dos veces, con la evidente intención de corromper votaciones. Lo negó, y permitió que se sancionase y expuksase a otros usuarios que denunciaron la machada de Ecemaml. Se demostró su fechoría, y dió la más ridícula de la "excusa" diciendo que el títere era un compañero de trabajo. A los pocos meses de su expulsión, admite su hazaña y pide su readmisión con toda humildad, generando un debate que a su vez provoca toda suerte de conflictos en ESWiki, bloqueos incluidos. Ahora en Commons, se le olvida la humildad, los motivos de su merecidísima expulsión, sus contínuos abusos, y se pone digno y habla de patadas en la boca y de que le deben pedir disculpas. Pues bien, que este sujeto pretenda que alguien le de disculpas por señalar sus fechorías, no hace otra cosa que confirmar su catadura. Y la bravata la patada en la boca está muy graciosa. ¿Petición para wikiArS?[edit]
Si os interesa en la Galipedia necesitaríamos un retrato de gl:Roberto Vidal Bolaño que será el autor homenajeado este año en el Día das Letras Galegas. Ya tiene un retrato pero creo es es bastante simple, creo que se podría mejorar mucho. Este autor falleció en el año 2002 con lo que es virtualmente imposible conseguir imágenes libres de su persona. - Posiblemente después de que se cargó en Commons cambiaron la licencia en Flickr, pero no hay problema porque cuando se pasó a Commons el bot validó que la licencia era compatible y así que se libera una imagen, aunque se protega a posteriori no tiene validez. Estelades[edit]
Has fet una bona feina classificant fotos d'estelades blaves o vermelles. Nomès volia comentar-te que hauria estar millor fer un "move" i no un "copy", per així anar buidant la categoria principal, i movent imatges a les subcategories. --Jordiferrer (talk) 08:29, 14 September 2013 (UTC)
- Tens raó que llavors queden més amagades pels que arriben a "Estelades", però la politica general es no tenir categories redundants. Pósters[edit]
Compte que l'excepció informativa de la llei espanyola especifica una finalitat (la informativa), però a Commons s'entén que un fitxer és lliure si el pot fer servir qualsevol per qualsevol ús, incloent, per exemple, els usos que no siguin informatius (decoratius, per exemple). Aleshores crec que aquesta excepció no és el que ens permet conservar aquests fitxers.

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2013 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. The top 30 overall and the most popular image in each category have continued to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just one image to become the Picture of the Year.

The 2013 Picture of the Year competition has ended and we are pleased to announce the results: We shattered participation records this year — more people voted in Picture of the Year 2013 than ever before. In both rounds, 4070 different people voted for their favorite images. Additionally, there were more image candidates (featured pictures) in the contest than ever before (962 images total).
- In the first round, 2852 people voted for all 962 files
- In the second round, 2919 people voted for the 50 finalists (the top 30 overall and top 2 in each category)
We congratulate the winners of the contest and thank them for creating these beautiful images and sharing them as freely licensed content:
- 157 people voted for the winner, an image of a lightbulb with the tungsten filament smoking and burning.
- In second place, 155 people voted for an image of "Sviati Hory" (Holy Mountains) National Park in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine.
- In third place, 131 people voted for an image of a swallow flying and drinking.

Wiki Loves Monuments 2014 startet in Kürze[edit]
Hallo Dvdgmz,
in Kürze ist es wieder soweit. Der nun schon traditionelle Fotowettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments wird im September zum vierten Mal stattfinden. In ähnlicher Form hatte unlängst der Wettbewerb "Wiki Loves Earth" eine erfolgreiche Premiere. Zu allen bisherigen vier Wettbewerben haben seit 2011 gut 3000 unterschiedliche Teilnehmer (User) ihren Beitrag geleistet. Du warst dabei, und bist auch herzlich eingeladen, am bevorstehenden WLM-Wettbewerb wieder dabei zu sein.
Allein in Deutschland wurden in den letzten drei Jahren im Rahmen von WLM rund 100.000 Fotos zu den insgesamt ca. 850.000 Kulturdenkmalen bundesweit hochgeladen. Jährlich haben sich mehrere Hundert Wiki-Fotographen daran beteiligt. Auch im kommenden Denkmalmonat wird dies gewiss wieder der Fall sein. Der Tag des offenen Denkmals am 14. September bietet bundesweit vielfältige Möglichkeiten, Denkmale nicht nur von außen, sondern auch von innen zu fotografieren. Denkmallisten sind dabei ein wichtiger Orientierungspunkt und zugleich auch Ziel der Einbindung der Fotos. Auch in diesem Jahr sind wieder neue Denkmallisten hinzugekommen, die hilfreich bei der Planung von individuellen oder Gruppen-Fototouren sind und auf eine Bebilderung warten, wie z.B. zu Görlitz oder Zittau. Unter den Landeshauptstädten fehlt nur noch Stuttgart. Aber auch hier ist Licht in Sicht.
In der Mitte Deutschlands hat die Denkmallandschaft der thüringischen Landeshauptstadt Erfurt nun das Licht der Wikipedia-Welt entdeckt. Mehr als 50 Tabellen enthalten 3.700 Denkmale. Allein die wunderschön restaurierte Altstadt umfasst 1.800 Denkmale. Eine von WMDE geförderte WLM-Fototour nach Erfurt am Wochenende vom 29. – 31. August lädt herzlich ein, diese einzigartige Kulturlandschaft zu dokumentieren. Mehr Informationen findest Du auf der Projektseite.

Der WLM-Countdown hat begonnen[edit]
Hallo Dvdgmz,
nun ist es wieder soweit. Vom 1. bis zum 30. September findet zum fünften Mal der internationale Wettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments statt. Im Mittelpunkt steht bekanntlich das Fotografieren von Kulturdenkmalen. Du hast an einem der letzten Fotowettbewerbe teilgenommen und wir freuen uns auf weitere Bildbeiträge von Dir.
Viele interessante Motive, nicht nur Burgen und Schlösser, sondern auch Fachwerkhäuser, Brücken und Brunnen, technische und Industriedenkmale und vieles mehr gibt es noch zu fotografieren, damit sie in der Wikipedia dokumentiert werden können. Nützliche Tipps findest du auf unserer WLM-Projektseite. Du kannst gerne individuell Fototouren durchführen oder aber Dich auch Gruppentouren anschließen. Besonders freuen wir uns auf Fotos, die Lücken in den Denkmallisten der Wikipedia ausfüllen.
Darüber hinaus kannst Du auch an der Arbeit der Jury teilnehmen, die Mitte Oktober die Fotos bewerten und die Gewinner ermitteln wird. Bis zum 15. August kannst du hier Deine Bewerbung einreichen.
