Other versions Cutted painting with “Beach scene” from the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid and “On the Beach” in the Arkell Museum at Canajoharie. Homer cut the canvas apart after receiving scathing reviews at the National Academy of Design in 1869.
