His license is like an ad. Whenever I search for "public domain" images, I find tons of his stuff because of the addition he adds to the license. 71.233.148.49 02:23, 4 March 2010 (UTC)
- That's not a reason to delete the picture, though. -- Schnee (talk) 00:51, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
- But an admin can remove the "public domain" phrase from all his user templates, like User:Fir0002/17 etcetera. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 10:58, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
- The simple reason for it is: his license is an ad. And that is not explicitly against policy. Just as it is not explicitly against policy to only upload downscaled versions of images to gain exposure on one of the most visited sites on the internet, and keeping full size images as a source of revenue. Well, but I am digressing here. However annoying it may be, the search engine is to blame rather than Fir. Why should he not be allowed to remind people that his images are not in the public domain (which probably is one of the most common misconceptions about free licenses). --Dschwen (talk) 15:49, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
- But he has used his admin buttons to protect his own adverisements. That is not what admin powers are for. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 15:56, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
- That is exactly what admin powers are for. Personal licensing templates should either be substed or protected. The main problem is that Fir was given admin powers, which makes the protection kind of useless. And unfortunately he abused his powers for blatant re-licensing [1] during the GFDL vs. GFDL-1.2only debate. --Dschwen (talk) 16:02, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Keep and speedy close. This should be discussed at COM:RFA#Removal_of_administrator_rights (alleged administrator abuse) or another more suitable forum. Please see COM:DESYSOP for more. But there is not much point as he has been inactive for six months and is due to have his privileges revoked for inactivity. Walter Siegmund (talk) 16:49, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
